How we grant

Australian Executor Trustees Limited, part of the EQT Holdings Limited group, is the as the Trustee of the Sir Ross and Sir Keith Smith Fund.

A specialist Advisory Committee provides continuing guidance and support to the Trustee to ensure the Fund’s objectives are met. The Advisory Committee considers and reviews grant applications and provides endorsements or/and recommendations for Trustee’s consideration.

The Trustee undertakes exclusive or joint funding of:


•    Appropriate education or academic research programs conducted through approved tertiary institutions
•    Sponsorship for activities that promote aeronautics and related fields (such as aerospace and aviation)

The Trustee will prioritise requests from applicants based in the Smith Brothers’ home state of South Australia and/or initiatives that benefit Adelaide communities; however, national and interstate requests may be considered.

Application timeline

Application are reviewed quarterly in April, July, October and January. To be considered, applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the relevant meeting.
