Adelaide University Design, Build, Fly (AUDBF)
The Adelaide University Design, Build, Fly (AUDBF) aims to promote student excellence in the field of aerospace technology by offer university students the opportunity to engage in an array of hands-on aeronautical projects, producing highly capable and motivated individuals who will form the next generation of aeronautical engineers and leaders of the future.
The grant from the Sir Ross and Sir Keith Smith Fund has been instrumental in the running of these various UAV development and student outreach programs, reaching over 100 university students in 2024 and allowing them to gain new experiences and technical expertise in aeronautical engineering.
The generous support from the Sir Ross and Sir Keith Smith Fund also allowed the AUDBF to participate in the 28th Annual Design, Build, Fly competition which culminated in a team of 7 AUDBF members being sent to the United States to compete. Throughout the competition, AUDBF members explored and developed innovative new design and manufacturing processes, all of which would not have been possible without the support of the Sir Ross and Sir Keith Smith Fund.
